The Rotary Club of Windsor 1918, in cooperation with the City of Windsor have been forced to make the agonizing decision to keep the Art in the Park gates closed on Sunday, June 6th. With the rain continuing most of the night on Saturday, the grounds of Willistead Manor are completely under water. For the safety of our attendees, vendors, exhibitors and volunteers, the call was made early Sunday morning after all options were investigated.
After the record breaking attendance on Saturday of over 13,000 attendees, and our hugely successful Friday night event in the Spirit Tent, the Art in the Park committe - although crushed by the Sunday closure, are thrilled with our 2010 results. Thanks to everyone's hard work and dedication for making Art in the Park 2010 as successful as it was!
OPENING NIGHT - A HUGE SUCCESS
Art in the Park's first ever Friday night entertainment in the Spirit Tent was a huge success! Our kick off event for Art in the Park was attended by just over 600 people. Young and old enjoyed the delicious food selections, and refreshments from our high caliber local vendors. The live entertainment was tremendous, and although mother nature intervened with a dazzling lightning show and downpour prior to our Headliner band, the Sunparlour Players - the show went on! With the main stage rained out, The SunParlour Players improvised by joining the crowd in the tent and setup a makeshift stage. With only 1 amplified guitar they delighted the crowd with a heartfelt, intimate performance.
Art in the Park vendors are open Saturday from 10:00am till 7:00pm, and Sunday from 10:00am till 5:00pm for your shopping enjoyment. Our Spirit Tent is open from 12:00pm till 11:00pm on Saturday and 10:00am till 5:00pm on Sunday with more incredible live music performances, and of course great food, wine and beer!
Make a day of it........ and stay for the evening!! We look forward to seeing you at Art in the Park!
